Beauty Hall of Fame: Dior lash plumping serum

It was love at first application.

I've tried other lash primer from brands like Clinique and Estee Lauder and wasn't impressed with their products because they didn't perform as well as I'd hoped when applied - too clumpy, not thick enough or just generally didn't cut it - especially for the price.

The nicest one I've tried (which I believe isn't for sale any longer), until I purchased the Dior lash plumping serum that is, was Bourjois Coupe de Theatre.  This was a two in one double ended primer and mascara.  I tried that while living in England (I don't think they sell this in the US) and it was fantastic.  Gave great coverage, didn't clump and the mascara was decent too.

Unfortunately, they changed the product while I was living there, altering it from being a two in one to a normal one tube mascara and I didn't bother trying the updated product as I didn't feel it would be the same.

Recently when I needed a lash primer, feeling sad that I couldn't get my Bourjois Coupe de Theatre anymore, I picked up the Dior lash plumping serum from Sephora to see if it could impress me.  And it definitely did, without question.

This is what my eyes looked like pre-primer
After primer!
With primer and makeup too! (Excuse the crazy eye/forehead look here, I needed to make sure you could see the change in my lashes so I needed to look up!)
Why would I include it as part of my beauty hall of fame?
  • It gives superb non-clumpy coverage
  • Application is really easy and the brush sizing is great for putting it on - you can cover a lot of the lashes quickly
  • It provides an excellent base for preparing the lashes for mascara - does exactly what it should
  • They've made the tube a bright white so that you can easily find it when searching for it, unlike other brands which might color their bottles silver or black which would be confusing when looking for a primer amongst mainly black colored mascaras!
This product is well worth the price ($28 - a bit of a splurge for me for a primer product).  I was very pleased with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a superb lash primer.

***My Beauty Hall of Fame posts will include products I think are exceptional in several areas including:
  • Easy application
  • Quality consistency
  • Long-lasting
  • Provide results as described in company created product synopsis
  • Generally work well on skin, eyes, hair etc.
  • And as a bonus, are packaged in creative ways

  1. Well said! Or, should that be, well written?
Either way, it is good to find some personal testimonials to quality products, tested by you.
So many products, of all sorts, rely on endorsements by 'famous' people - but just why would that influence anyone?
Being famous doesn't mean a thing when it comes down to it.
So my vote is for endorsements by Katie!
Your eyes are beautiful, with or without, the make-up.

    1. Thanks, Mom! I agree, sometimes it's hard to believe that those famous types are really impressed by the products they talk about because in the back of my mind, I'd think: they got paid to say those things!
